With an on the water location and hundreds of kayaks in stock, Glacier Bay Sports is Long Island's largest full service kayak shop. We provide sales, outfitting, lessons, tours, rentals and demos. With over 100 kayaks available for rental, getting on the water and enjoying the various waterways of Long Island is easy.
Our Northport shop is 30 miles east of New York City and nestled on scenic Northport Harbor, seconds from the historic village either by water or land. With over 90 kayaks on display and hundreds in our on location warehouse, our marina location allows for an ideal location to purchase and paddle.
Long Island is home to a phenomenal number of kayaking locations. Whether you are looking for a relaxing river such as the Carman's, an adventurous paddle on the Long Island Sound or the Great South Bay, a chance to play in the surf at Jones Beach or Ditch Plains in Montauk, or a chance to enjoy the many harbors, we are here to outfit you year round wherever your paddling journeys take you.
As a specialty shop, we hand pick the manufacturers and suppliers we work with. Rental Info
Long Island's beautiful waterways can be enjoyed by all through the
rental of a kayak. Our on the water location provides easy access to
scenic and historic Northport Harbor on the North Shore. 
Rentals
are easy and provide a great way to spend a few hours or a full day
with family or friends. Rentals are typically done on a first come
first serve basis, but with 100's of boats at each shop in the rental
fleet there is generally no problem getting on the water.
You
may want to bring a bottle of water with you or some sunscreen, but we
provide the kayak, lifejackets and paddles necessary.
If
you have a suitable roof rack system or truck with plenty of room you
may take a kayak off the property and to your put-in point of choice.
If you are uncertain if your car or truck is appropriate, feel free to
give us a call or stop by and we can let you know.

Our rental fleet of kayaks includes singles and doubles and covers
everything from your short recreational kayaks through your long
touring kayaks, both sit inside and sit-on-top style. We will pair you
with a kayak appropriate for your skill and experience level, so if
your rental will be your maiden voyage, don't worry – your kayak will
be stable and comfortable.
Our
experienced staff members will get you comfortable in your kayak,
discuss some important points of kayaking and water safety and launch
you into the Harbor. Kayaking is a rapidly growing sport and Long
Island is the perfect place to enjoy and participate. We hope to see
